This course introduces important topics for the successful rescue and rehabilitation of Australian bats, including; identification, behaviour, anatomy and physiology, rescue scenarios, common injuries and diseases, examination and treatment, hospital care, basic necropsy, pup care, diet and preparation for release. It is based on the standards and guidelines outlined in the NSW DPIE Code of Practice for injured, sick and orphaned flying-foxes.
